FULL TERM!!!! OMG.

How far along: 37 weeks. Which means I'm FULL TERM!!!! I never thought this day would come, but thank god it finally has. (Now watch...she will go two weeks overdue.)

How big is baby: The size of a watermelon. I didn't even need to check on those online charts to know this. It just looks like there is a watermelon crammed up my shirt.

Total weight gain: Funny story...I found out by accident. I meant to remain ignorant to my weight gain through my entire pregnancy and then just worry about fitting back into my pants later. But then I was doing my paperwork for short term disability and my doctor wrote my weight on there. And I saw it. Oops.

I have gained about 35 pounds, which I'm okay with. I thought I had gained more like 100.

Sleep: Totally overrated.

Maternity Clothes: The dress I have on in the picture below is actually a non-maternity dress. But most days, yes.

Food cravings: If anyone has suggestions of things that will make me go into labor, I'll be taking them at this point.

Food aversions: Nothing.

Challenges: Walking to the fax machine without taking a bathroom break.

Movement: I can tell she has run out of room.

Boy or Girl?: Another funny story...or really NOT so funny. I have heard of a lot of people lately finding out later in their pregnancies that the scans were wrong when they found out the sex. So basically I've been obsessively looking at B's potty shot from my anatomy scan to make sure that what I'm really seeing is girl bits. I think I am, but I guess I can't be 100% sure until the day she is born.

Obviously I will love her if she happened to be a boy, but it would certainly be a really unfortunate situation as far as clothing and room decorations are concerned.

What I’m looking forward to: EVICTION DAY.

What I miss: Being not-pregnant.

Next appt: Tomorrow. I will get my GBS results *fingers crossed* and maybe start talking to the doctor about what happens when (I'm being a pessimist) I go overdue.

  3. I hope she doesn't make you wait too much longer I know how uncomfortable you must be right now.

Also, I gained about 37 pounds and lost all but about 10 within 6 weeks from just breast-feeding so try not to worry too much about the weight gain.

  4. I don't want to be a party pooper... but full term at 37 weeks? In Denmark we say 40 weeks is full term, and I went 15 days overdue from that. I can't give you any advice to get labour started, I think I tried them all from shoveling snow to having sex and nothing worked.... hope Betty will be here soon:)

    1. Yeah 37 weeks is technically considered full term, but we all know that pregnancy lasts until 40 weeks. :) It's just that now it would be considered pretty safe for her to come out if she were so inclined. If I could choose a time that I would love her to arrive, it would be somewhere between 39 and 40 weeks, but unfortunately it's not up to me. I just hope she doesn't decide to go to 42!

  5. I was freaked out that they would be wrong too, because once you find out everyone has to share stories about how they could be wrong, just to freak you out. But they were right.
Yay for full term! Although I was still pregnant at 40 weeks and 2 days. Hopefully you get to go before then!

  7. Nate was 2.5 weeks overdue, he refused all eviction notices and we thought he would start renting out space. Haha but really I'm sure you will be just fine, lots of people I know who were small/fit before pregnancy went early and easy but I don't want to jinx you so I won't say that is how it will go.

Hooray for full term! Old wives tales (that didn't work for me haha) are spicy food, sex, walking, rose hip tea and castor oil. Good luck my friend!

  8. Full term...how exciting! I can wait to see sweet B make her grand entrance. I hate to say it but my little Pie was very nearly 3 weeks past due. But I'm sure B will be considerate enough not to make you wait.

  12. Full term! Good for you for being such a good hostess to Miss Betty. :-) I'm freaked out by those stories of the scans being wrong too. But I'm sure you're just fine and your little Betty will look fabulous in her tutu. And if not...then you have some kickass blackmail for your son. ;-)
